• Riverside County Education Academy is a military themed, public charter school.  RCEA provides academic studies, military leadership, character development, and extra-curricular activities with a variety of interventions to support student achievement in a highly structured learning environment.

    • RCEA schools are WASC accredited.  All core courses follow the California state standards and frameworks and are A-G approved.  All students take at least one year of military leadership class where they learn military protocols and basic drill.  Class schedules are based on graduation requirements and preparation for college.  Students are provided opportunities to enroll in AVID, concurrent enrollment in college courses, and electives like Honor Guard and ASB.  Students who are behind in credits are placed in a credit recovery class to work on the courses they need.
    • RCEA strives to provide students with multiple options for their post-secondary goals. Partnerships with local community colleges give students the opportunity take extra courses for college credit (AP and concurrent enrollment), participate in specialized programs (TRIO, Upwardhbound), and interact with college outreach staff to enroll and learn more about available resources.
    • The military program teaches students leadership, citizenship, personal discipline and responsibility that will help them succeed after high school.  Students can advance in rank and become student leaders, learn advanced drill maneuvers in Honor Guard, present colors as the Color Guard, march as a battalion in parades, and even compete individually or with a platoon in the California Cadet Corps annual drill competition. RCEA holds top ranks each year.
    • Students can also participate in CIF sports.  Fall, winter and spring sports are offered, and CIF criteria apply.  For example, students need an athletics physical clearance and minimum GPA of 2.0 to participate. Please ask to speak with the school athletics coordinator for more infomation.

We want students and their families to be involved in the RCEA community. There are many events and activities to engage students, from daily formation to holiday events and dances.  Families are invited to celebrate student awards and cheer on RCEA athletes.  ASB actively plans and hosts activities for all students, senior events, family nights, and community outreach. Parents are encouraged to participate and attend regular Parent Advisory Counsel (PAC) meetings to share ideas and provide input.
